Hi, I’m Isabella Kosoglaz! As your counselor, I am devoted to helping you find relief from anxiety, depression, shame, or anything else that may leave you feeling stuck or unworthy. We'll collaborate as you work towards aligning your actions with your values, build trust within yourself, and find healing. I use acceptance, validation, and occasional humor in our therapy sessions.
As a therapist, I practice from an eclectic perspective, incorporating psychodynamic, CBT and Internal Family Systems orientations, to help you work through conflict, trauma, and whatever else feels like it is dysregulating your system. I am open-minded and understand how important it is to collaborate with you and seek to understand your unique perspective. I welcome clients from a diverse range of ethnic and religious backgrounds.
I am a master's level counseling intern. I am nearing completion of my master's in counseling at Northwestern University, with a focus in Children & Adolescents Counseling. I previously graduated Summa Cum Laude with my bachelor's of science degree in Psychology at the University of Wisconsin.
Additionally, I am trained in Trauma-Focused CBT and will be training in EMDR at the end of October, 2023.
I previously worked in a group practice for 1 year, providing individual and family therapy to adults and adolescents. Prior to becoming a counseling intern, I have worked as a Medical and Recreational Patient Care Specialist at a Cannabis Dispensary, which gave me a good perspective on helping people manage pain, as well as a deeper understanding of the potential of cannabis addiction. I have honed my client-focused perspective in a variety of jobs through my college career that emphasized customer service and customer satisfaction.
I am fluent in Russian and conversational Spanish. I practice my own self care including playing tennis, travel, and enjoying my animals.
