Individual Therapy

How Will Individual Therapy Work for You?

In individual therapy, you will work one-on-one with your therapist. Together, you both establish treatment goals and work collaboratively to meet those goals through a variety of evidence-based interventions, depending on your specific needs.

Individual therapy sessions usually run 55 minutes on an outpatient basis. Individual therapy sessions may occur weekly, biweekly or as needed for established clients.

For clients recently discharged from a residential, PHP or IOP program, individual sessions may occur 2-3 times per week until the client is stable enough to step down to weekly sessions.

Once you decide to become a client of RTPC, we meet with you for an intake session. Intake appointments allow us to gather information about your needs and goals for therapy. This first session gives you time to get to know us and how we work as well!

Once you decide to work with us, we will email you the required paperwork to set up your first appointment. Intake paperwork may be completed online via our secure portal, but paperwork needs to be finished before your intake session.
